USB-C ports not working

I got my pc specialist pc last July. I have only just plugged in some devices that require usb-c connections and discovered some problems.

There are 2 usb-c ports on the pc, one on the top of the fractal define 7 case and one at the rear on the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus motherboard.

The top usb-c connector on the case doesn't work at all. Nothing I plug into it gets power.
The rear usb-c connector has power but seems loose and plugging things into it connect then disconnect and I have to hold the cable in place to maintain a connection.

Can you suggest how I might resolve these problems please?

Here's my spec:

Probably the top USB-C isn't properly connected on the MB and I can't help you on that.
Regarding the back USB-C it sucks, but as a trial you could try with a USB-C male-female small cable and see if inserting it in the PC, and your device into the end of the cable, connection stays. Just saying. Else it's RMA time?

It has a 3.2 USB header on-board which could have been used for the USB-C port but it's likely it has been favoured for 2 of the USB-A ports on the top instead.

If you wish to drop the 2 ports, you could swap it over to the USB-C.

Urgh, I didn't event consider it wouldn't even be connected. Thanks for the info, I'll have a look at the wiring and see if I can confirm that.

Did you confirm? I have exactly the same problem. Guessed it wasn't connected. And can confirm that the rear USB-C sucks. Only a small thing, but bit disappointed.

I'm getting the same issue as well (B550 plus Wifi / Corsair 4000D Airflow) - the front (top) USB C port doesn't work at all, the rear one on the motherboard IO panel seems very loose but my phone shows as charging if the cable is held in the sweet spot.
