USB ports stopped working [windows 7]

Hi i have a issue with my pcs laptop, the usb ports were working fine but, now nothing is being detected when connecting a usb device
into it. any idea's?

Laptop enigma III 540 running windows 7 ultimate 64bit

Seems to be power there but my soundcard wont show up when connected to the usb socket.Also my headphone jack does not seem to be working!
