using 540m graphics rather than intel hd graphics

Is there a way i can just use the 540m graphics rather than the intel or are they both always active at the same time or do i need to only have one actice if so how do i enable only the 540m graphics.

gt 540m is the only active graphics solution. PCS do not activate the GMA HD

What laptop do you have?
I'm sure there's a button on the Optimus somewhere to switch the graphics.

I don't have one yet, but the enigma III 540 is the one with the 540m graphics card, and I was told by an online rep they do not have the optimus switching.

Looks like it's just the Optimus then.
