Video card fan getting stuck

I'm using a Palit 1GB Nvidia GTX 460 which is about a year old now. Last night the fan made a loud grinding sound and stopped spinning. This morning the fan still wasn't spinning and my PC was running at about 50 degrees idle speed and jumped up to 70 degrees idle, previously I haven't had any problems with overheating and the fan hasn't stopped working like this before.

Now whenever I turn on my computer the fan will consistently start and stop spinning and makes the same grinding sound when it tries to spin. It seems like the fan could be getting caught on the cooling grill behind the fan.

What should I do? I'm leaving the PC off for now as the noise it makes is unbearable and I don't want to harm the card/fan any further.

Phoned PCspecialist and they organised a return of the card as I expected, just wondered if a warranty starts from the day of order, production finish or delivery date?

Didn't ask about payment over the phone and my warranty expires in a week so worried about what I will have to pay if the card is replaced or fixed.

I believe warranty starts when you place the order.. Unsure though, maybe a mod can confirm this :)

Doubt you'll have to pay, as you should get the card back within a week hopefully :) Also, you sent it off under warranty, so you shouldn't be affected :)

if you notified PCS of the problem whilst still within warranty then it will still be covered, whenever you send it
