Vortex II 15 Configurator Questions

Hello,

I am currently deciding on buying the high performance gaming laptop, and PC Specialist is one of the candidates.
The laptop I am looking at website is Vortex II 15 (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/vortexII-15/)

However, I’ve ran into uncertain specs of the display panel. The matte display in the configurator drop down box named as “95% Gamut”, however in the “detailed specs” window (which pop up on the question mark button) the gamut stated as 72% (AUO B156HW01 V.3)

So the question is - what exact display panel is possible to get? I would actually prefer V.1 or V.3 panel as it has better contrast and brightness. I don't want wide gamut, as I need sRGB colours.

Another question - why can't I order laptop without a hard drive? I already have SSD I intend to swap from my old system, so I don't want waste money on that.

The screen is the B156HW01 V.4 95% gamut model which is the highest colour range we offer. The V.1 and V.3 panels are glossy and we don't supply these.

As a company we produce fully assembled notebooks to order. If you'd like us to install your own SSD we can do so, but please note that some OCZ and Corsair SSDs based on the Force 3 controller have randomnly failed in our notebooks in the past. The latest version of these are apparently OK now that the chipset issue has been fixed.

Do you know, is there any option (like in display properties on some laptops) to put this wide gamut display to sRGB mode? Native wide gamut like 95% results in incorrect colours in applications that not colour-profile aware.

You wrong however about B156HW01 V1 and V3 being glossy. Both are matte and being supplied with Sagers, I'd just prefer to avoid shipping from Germany if I could.

I understand that you produce fully assembled notebooks on order, question is - could you produce one without hard drive installed?

We only supply the 95% gamut matte version - the V.3 is only 60%.
