Vortex III - Remove Keyboard.

I've had some unresponsive keys on my keyboard. Tech support via email told me to remove the keyboard to check the connection, and that the instruction should be in the user manual.

Unfortunately, they are not there. Can anyone point me in the right direction to remove the keyboard? I have removed the plastic cover and unscrewed the five holes, but after that I cannot find any way to prize the keyboard off.

Apparently you have to do the following according to the Clevo forums

"Remove the upper plastic bezel, and you'll find 4-5 screws under it-these hold your keyboard. Remove screws, then gently lift out keyboard (careful, your ribbon is still attached) remove the cable from the motherboard then replace cable, screw back in, replace bezel."

I've had a look at the mauals and cant find any instructions for removal

Think the Vortex III is a Clevo P15XEM and P17XEM Range

I have a vortex 2 15" and foind this post, not sure if it will help you with the III series

It does and it doesn't. Thank you but no luck. The keyboard simply does not just lift out. It is difficult to do so and it seems to bend as it is not coming free at the bottom.

I don't want to risk bending it and breaking it.

Try putting your fingers under the two middle screw lugs and carefully pull it away and the bottom should come out. I had no trouble removing my keyboard weeks ago when it developed problems
