Vortex Series: Webcam Issue

I've had my new lap top a few days now and have everything configured to my liking. However I've just installed Skype and cannot for the life of me figure out why my webcam is not working. I've tried installing drivers that came with the laptop, however no webcam is detected? I cannot find one listed under devices in the control panel either, although an unknown device has been detected...Port_#0006.Hub_#0004

Any ideas?

Does look like a driver problem, give this a try,
with driver disk inserted, right click unknown device in device manager/"update driver software"/"browse my computer for driver software"locate drivers in driver disk (could be something like "Creader")and install driver software manually.

I've just given this a go and according to windows the best driver is already installed? I've also gone for a direct install from the driver disk, but it cannot detect the webcam...

Its not a massive issue as I am hardly going to use the webcam, would just like to get it working!

Ok, we're getting somewhere, I've activated it via the above and windows has automatically tried installing the drivers. Its immediately failed. USB Device not recognized.

Try installing driver from device manager again like I described, the driver may be under a different name and not unknown.

Windows has determined the best driver is already installed, i've even located the webcam driver on the disk and still no joy. This is frustrating!

Try uninstalling driver from device manager by right clicking on it in device manager/uninstall,then restart computer, windows should then try to reinstall install driver,if not try again to install from driver disk or browse to it from device manager.

I've already tried that i'm afraid, and it just loops back to the original error message. Not really sure where to go here?

Pretty sure sure it's a driver problem,if any devices are showing warnings in device manager try installing driver from disk or device manager as I described, failing that I can only advise you give tech support a call.(0844 499 4000)
