Vyper 17.3 fan vibration

Hi there

Received my laptop today, happy with the performance so far but when the fans spin up I can feel them through the chassis. Is this common? It is quite pronounced and seems a little odd to me as it is distracting when playing a game.

Any help appreciated!

Have installed a fresh copy of Windows and the issue is still there. I might be being over sensitive but all the other laptops I have owned I have not been able to feel the fan movement noticeably where I rest my left hand to use the keyboard.

Can you record the sound it makes and upload it somewhere so we can hear it?

I would also suggest opening the case so you can see the fans. That will allow you to confirm it's the fans and get a better recording. With the laptop turned off just see whether the fans look to be installed properly.

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, the fans actually sound fine, I can upload them later but is nothing unusual to share.

I think it is actually the NVMe drive. I added another 970 Evo from my old laptop which is barely used and am pretty sure that is the culprit as it only rumbles through the case when there is hard drive activity, when the fans are at full blast there is not a noticeable vibration.

The drive is functioning correctly. Is it how it is seated? Never experienced this kind of issue before.

Thanks!

NVME drives are solid state so there are zero moving parts ie zero vibration.
