Vyper III performance problems + Battery dead?

I received my Vyper III yesterday. Firstly, it wouldn't turn on until I connected the AC. On boot, I noticed that the battery was reading "0% Plugged in". I have tried adjusting power settings, reinstalling battery drivers, disconnecting the battery and reconnecting - no luck. It won't charge. HWMonitor showing battery voltage 0.000V

After getting everything set up and GPU options configured (Intel HD for light applications, 2070 for games/editing), I noticed the 2070 was sitting around 20-30% usage with basic tasks that should have only been using Intel. I'm not sure if this is normal, but my previous laptop didn't do this. The dedicated GPU stayed off until an application used it.

I played some CS:GO this morning, and I was getting around 30-40FPS (should be over 200). I figured that it must be using Intel so I checked in task manager, but it was using the RTX 2070 - which was maxed out at 100%. I then tried Metro: Last Light, and simply just the main menu had me on 15-30FPS, again the 2070 sitting at 100%. CPU, RAM, disk usage all appear normal. HWMonitor shows all temperatures at 55-65C so it isn't thermal throttling.

I've been adjusting settings for a while, with and without Nvidia GeForce/Control panel, and still no luck. Am I missing something?

The battery is still 0%, I've just been using the machine on AC power only and plan to call PC Specialist tomorrow to send another battery if it really is dead. But now I'm also concerned that my RTX 2070 may also be faulty. I'm confused because before my order arrived it was "In testing" for two days, and there have been so many basic issues so far with drivers and low performance, the battery, and now the GPU. What exactly did they test I wonder?

If anyone can think of any suggestions for either the battery or GPU issues I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

Under-performing on every test.. I'm wondering is it possible that my AC brick is faulty? Perhaps the laptop is being choked on power and also not charging the battery.

I would call PCS first thing in the morning. It does sound as though you have a dead battery, and since you bought it with Win 10 all drivers and necessary control software should be installed. It does sound as though something's not right there.

BTW. If it was in testing for 2 days then they noticed something unusual IMO. Most builds don't stay in testing that long....

Virtually nothing was installed. Very few drivers, no Chrome (despite picking it on specs), no control centre, no Nvidia control panel. It is very strange.

Rebooted and tried the AC adapter in another wall socket. Ran benchmark again, slight improvement as I had nothing else running in the background, but everything is still under-performing https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28826235.

Unfortunately I don't have a multi meter to test the power. I'm wondering if the performance issues are all related to the battery/adaptor.

That doesn't sound good at all! Definitely call them in the morning.
