Hi,

My budget for a new gaming PC is £1050 I'm not sure whether to go with an Intel i7 or AMD

RAM Corsair 8GB?
Graphics ATI HD870 or the GTX465?
I also like the The Stylish Black Trigon Case...will this provide enough cooling?
I want to play Napoleon total war on the best graphics and be able to play shogun TW 2 when that comes out 2011 on the best settings?

Thanks

Thankyou for your response, do you think I should get the intel i7 processor and compromise the graphics card and ungrade that later when its needed?

thanks

Could someone explain the differance between the intel i5 and i7 range?

I just want to make sure I have a Pc that won't be outdated too quickly and be future proof for games coming out 2011-12

I think the specification above will be best for gaming, and if you compromise the GPU for a better CPU your gaming experience will decrease a little.

You can order i5 and i7 on the current socket 1156 platform you have, but the most powerful options are on the socket 1366 platform, where you can order 6 core processors.

Both platforms will be as future proof as each other. A socket usually has a lifespan of a few years before Intel launch the next version. But don't worry about that. You could spend every penny you had on the very best computer, only for something better to be launched a few months later.

PCS is 100% correct. And a great build also. I would advise the above build, it's just what you need.
