Wanting to add case fans

Hi all,

I am wanting to upgrade my existing PC Specialist PC by adding the x5 corsair LL120 fans through the upgrade system on the website. When i go to "proceed" i get the error that "my case will only support 4 additional fans." I know this and am wanting to remove the existing stock fans to replace with the new ones. Is there a way to do this as it will not let me proceed and i do not want to buy just 3 new fans.

Was hoping to do it through pc specialists as i trust them and the price is extremely competitive!

Any help is appreciated

Thanks in advance,
Cam

Frustratingly there’s no workaround within the configurator. But I know people have got around this issue when ordering by calling PCS. They’ll be able to manually make the order for you and you should be able to get your fans!

Just thought I’d let you know, because of demand the phone lines are very busy with multiple hour waits for some people. For the best chance of a short wait I’d recommend calling as soon as they open at 9AM GMT Mon-Sat and hopefully you’ll get straight through!

You might also be able to use the live chat feature at the bottom when you’re on the configurator page but I’m not 100% sure.

yes it can be done. i managed to do it via live chat and they added the payment bit to the my orders section. there was a payment tab to click and was straight forward enough

Thank you so much for these replies!!!

Did you do it via the live chat recently jack as when i ordered my build it didn't seem to be working. I'll give it a go and if not ill do as junior says and give them a call on Monday morning.

i feel like they should make it a 'Warning' that 5 fans may not fit in my case but allow me to checkout anyways like they do for example if you get an oversized power supply.

you have to try at different at times as operators are not always online. bit of pot luck if you get someone but they have always helped with any issues i have had

If you've no clue then no worries, but is there a best time to check for operators?
This is a response a member got from them a couple of weeks ago:

"Good question, we do not have "official" times at the moment, although normally we start around 07:30 UK time and finish maybe 18:00? It does depend on how busy we are as when we have too many waiting we close it temporarily".

When a specific 'best time' is, I'm not too sure, but it'll give you a general idea of when they're available (assuming they aren't closed because of the wait time).

I think it is worth trying different times of day on both phone and live chat. I recently followed the advice here and called just before 0900. When I got through, there was a 90 minute estimated queue. I gave up and tried later in the day. I started with a 23 minute queue that quickly dropped to 8 minutes and I was speaking to someone within 10 minutes of placing the call. There will be a bit of pot luck that will depend upon how many people are calling and how long it takes to address their queries. My short queue was midway through a Friday afternoon. Perhaps everybody else thought it wasn’t worth phoning at that time!
