So for the pass couple of months out of nowhere this weird thing happens to my PC where playing certain games (FC4, Rise of the tomb raider) After a short session my monitors will go black and all the fans will kick into 100%. I have had my GFX card checked and returned and also been told to upgrade my power supply (which i have) The PC was actually sent back to PC specialist to be installed. Anyone got any ideas what it could be ?

Sounds like the Graphics Drivers crashed and restarted.
Best first course of action would be to goto Nvidias website and grab the latest drivers and do a fresh install of those.

I tend to be saying this a lot more recently, not sure if I'm just being lazy but...

id try a fresh installation of the OS, removes many places for an error to be hiding in your system. Do a clean installation of all driver etc then load a game with the known issue. Play it before installing anything else and see if the error is fixed, if not then it may be a hardware fault with the motherboard.

I've found a a bit of a temporary fix, If i use MSI afterburner and set the power level limit to 95% it takes longer for the problem to occur.
