Went a little over budget. Any feedback?

The investment in cooling is a waste. You just don't need MOAR FANS!?! And an H100x on a locked i5 is just not even close to being needed even if you got the thing to render videos 24/7.

The case doesn't even have that many mounting points.

I'd also advocate against a "mini" case, on the grounds that it's not actually mini. That isn't surprising when you consider that it needs to house the same quantity of components without frying them. All you get is a system in a very slightly smaller box with fewer upgrade options for which you've paid a premium.

I'd also not really recommend the 2 year warranty. Most of the components individually would cost less than the extra warranty cost to replace,

The QVO is a budget drive, and there are faster ones available for a similar price under the M.2 menu e.g. SX6000

Also Intel's i5s at the moment aren't very good buys, versus AMD's R5s, which are competitive in gaming and more futureproof thanks to the extra threads, and don't really cost more. Also the AMD equivalent motherboards to the B360s (AMD's B450s) support faster RAM.

An RTX 2060 or 2060 Super would be preferable for 1440p gaming.

Footprint's pretty similar, and the height difference isn't massive either

Or if you want a smallish case with RGB fans by Corsair, buy one that already offers that built in:

CORSAIR CRYSTAL SERIES 460X: 440mm x 220mm x 464mm (Approx H x W x D)

You've given me a lot to think about, Oussebon.

Despite being on a budget, I think I'll stick with Intel purely for preference but reducing my warranty to '3 Years Silver' has allowed me to change from '500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD' to '500GB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe' without any additional costs, in fact I get some money back. And then reducing the number of additional fans allows me to consider a GPU upgrade. As for the case, I'm afraid even the mini ITX might be a tad too big for my desk and anything smaller would compromise ventilation.

I appreciate the input, cheers!

Of all the notes suggested I think the 3600 proposal is probably the most significant to be honest. To stick with the Intel is not advisable, I don't think anyone would suggest otherwise.

Obviously it's entirely up to you but I would never select a locked end of the line Intel over the 3600, it's a truly great chip and the socket has some future to it.
