I'll be waiting to order I think while I have a ponder. Can I just ask again, why the 1000w PSU? There's no way I'd require that much draw or is that to allow room for upgrade?

Should you ever end up with the high end GPU's, and especially in a few years time as power usuage seems to slowly creep up, it will mean you can put any GPU you like in and not have to worry about headroom on the PSU.
It will mean the PSU isnt worked to its limits, so will be queiter and have a greater lifespan. A 850W would generally be suggested, but you have 3K to spend and are pushing for extreme gaming, I would expect at some point in the (roughly) 10 year lifespan of the machine you would end up on 4K (or even 8K) monitors and using the higher spec GPU's
