What does a red led next to the graphics card mean?

My pc is working fine but whenever I play a game my graphics card starts making a scratching noise, I noticed there's a red led on the motherboard to the right of it, what does this mean? Ive got no bsods. The noise goes louder if v sync isn't enabled.

This is the second 780 ti that's done this to me, I rang support on monday and got a replacement but the replacement is doing it to.

Rang support again today and sent them a video via email of the noise as I was told, just wondering if anyone on the forum can disables this as I wait for a response? Cheers.

Can you take a picture of the light?

The light should have some very tiny writing next to it to tell you what it does. If you check your motherboard manual it will tell you the location of all the lights and what they mean.
