Where is my PC?

Hello,

On November 25th I bought my PC and scheduled it to be dispatched on December 29th as that's when I was sure to be home.

On the dispatch day I go check on Pcspecialist and it correctly says "order dispatched" so I get on DPD and schedule the delivery for Friday 31st, aka today. I even pay 5 pounds to get it after 12pm.

Since there were no details on the DPD app other than the requested delivery date, yesterday I decide to contact DPD: the automated voice says the parcel will be delivered today. I contact Pcspecialist as well just to be sure and they also tell me it all looks good on their side - my PC will be delivered today.

Today, still no updates so I call DPD again and they tell me they don't have the parcel! They ask me to contact Pcspecialist. I contact Pcspecialist just to find out their lines and chats are closed though the website says they're open as usual.

Well, where is my PC and what happened to Pcspecialist customer service?

None of us work for PCS or DPD so are unable to answer any of your questions. You need to speak to PCS directly.

I am not sure what time you tried to contact PCS but as you can see from their website they are not open as usual today they close at 1300.

I know none of you work for Pcspecialist or DPD, I was just trying to see if there's anyone out there who had a similar experience and could tell me more.

It could be that all is fine and it will arrive today. Shipping logistics don't always get updated in real time and it isn't late yet.

If not, try to be pragmatic - I don't know where you live but my council has paused some rubbish collections and our busses are going to be Saturday service every day next week, all because covid is crippling the supply of drivers. I'm guessing that the same is true in a lot of sectors and even if it left PCS bang on schedule there is no guarantee it will make it to you on time. There's not a lot to be done about that, it's just the state of things in a pandemic surge

Of course, it did not arrive on Friday, as DPD didn't even have the parcel.
I am trying to call PCS now but they seem to be closed even though following the link @barlew provided, it says they should be open today.

@polycrac I understand everything you say, but I had requested for the order to be dispatched on the 29th before it was ready, and guess what? They dispatched it on the 18th - the day after they tested it! I had to make a call while going to the airport on that day to make sure they wouldn't send it out as I wasn't going to be home! And then on the 29th they set it as "dispatched" but DPD doesn't even know about the parcel? Sorry, but this doesn't seem like a "pandemic surge" problem to me...

That's really strange. Their live web chat is closed as well.
I was a bit surprised that they were going to be open today considering it is a bank holiday.
Maybe someone has made a mistake or god forbid COVID has hit PCS.

Just be patient. Pc is probably still with Pcs and wasn't dispatched for some reason. You are probably going to get it this week.

From what I remember when I got mine just before Christmas, was that when PCS dispatched it, a few days later, FedEx emailed me saying they received the package and sent me tracking numbers. It took in total about 5- 6 weeks for it to arrive at my door from ordering to receiving
