Which is best on memory

I'm currently looking at spec for a new laptop, nothing really as fancy as some of the spec on this forum as cost is an issue. Which is best, going for 4gig of ram and one slot or 2x2. I am looking at the Genesis. Also I'm no gamer (well apart from Shaun the Sheep!), is it worth going for one with a graphics card when all I do is cruising/buying, office and Adobe Photoshop and similar.

1 x 4GB is generally better as this way the laptop can be upgraded to 8GB in future if need be.

For cruising/buying/office the Genesis is fine. If you start working on high resolution images and video editing in Photoshop, I would recommend a dedicated graphics card, such as the GT 520M or above.
