My sister had a Dell Inspiron that she got as a present a few years ago. It stopped working because the DC jack was buggered and my attempt to fix it failed (couldn't unsolder the joints!).
Anyway, she got a second hand laptop which has also failed. So am looking at buying her a new one. She does the usual word/excel/powerpoint, she'll view youtube vids and watch DVDs. 15" screen will be more than enough. I don't know about low/mid-range laptop specs so need advice.
Full HD is probably overkill but will ask her.
No idea about CPU/RAM requirements. Is the Intel 4000 graphics chip enough for blu-ray/youtube?
