Which version of Witcher 2???

Hey All,

So I'm trying to buy Witcher 2 but I am confused into what version I must buy. If Enhanced Version is the latest one why is there another version on Amazon called Version 2 which is a lot more expensive. What is the difference???

Probably nothing, but as they are being sold by 3 different sellers rather than Amazon themselves prices will be different. From what I read about the witcher 2 (was tempted to buy it in the steam sale) all the benefits that come from the enhanced edition are free to download for peeps that didn't have it so you should be good to buy any of them.

Thanks, truegrace. I want to avoid downloading the enhanced version because I heard it's a really big download.

I thought it would be something to do with not being an Amazon Seller. I guess I will go ahead and buy the Enhanced Version.

yes the download for witcher two is totally free , it expands the game by about half again. , But the patch you have to download is about 10.5gb , so if you can get the enhanced version you would not have to wait for ages for the download to come in
(unless you have super fast broadband that is i suppose)

Also make sure you have the specs to run it in 60fps . its very power hungry indeed (but when you see it you will know why , its a great looking game visually .

Thanks! I bought a PC from PC Specialist and I'm sure it can it run it fine. I've been having solid 60fps for Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 on Ultra Settings.

I'm also looking to buy the Witcher 2 and had the same question. As far as I understand it the enhanced version includes a patch to solve some bugs/glitches in the original plus some the downloadable content. Version 2.0 includes this (with all 9 DLC) but has a patch to solve 100 gameplay issues found in the first release, plus 40 graphical enhancements and it has a new 'dark mode' in the difficulty setting which makes it much more difficult for hardcore gamers! It also has a new tutorial system for anyone new to the game and an arena mode where you can hone your battle skills against various monster classes in a new location with a new storyline.

So Hermi80, just so I understand this - what is the difference between Version 2.0 and Enhanced Version in the links I posted above.

By the way I would watch the video which would probably answer my question but at the moment I can't.

Link one: Enhanced edition has the DLC pack includes and some bonus stuff like a map and manual of how to play the game, but not all the patches for bug fixes/glitches.
Link two: Premium edition has all the DLC, bonus stuff like making of documentaries, game guide as above but again no patches included for the glitches and no enhanced graphical changes.
Last link: Version 2.0 has all the DLC, all the patches for the glitches and technical enhancements over the above two. It also has an additional 'dark' mode which is a new hardcore difficulty level which includes new weapons/armour classes unique to it, better tutorial system and arena mode where you can battle your chosen enemies relentlessly if you so wish.

Or at least that's how I understand the differences....I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I do believe that the patches for technical issues can be downloaded but not sure about the other enhancements the developers did for this version.
