Will PC Specialist install my OS on my SSD

Hi all

I just ordered my first PC with PC Specialist. When speccing it if I chose to place my SSD in a PCIe or M.2 slot I was given the option of installing the OS on the SSD. I chose a SATA slot for the SSD, i.e. Drive 1 and 2 x Black Caviar HDDs as drives 2 and 3. I got no prompt asking me if I want the OS on the SSD in this case.

Is this because it's just a no brainer - of course I'd want it on the SSD, or do I have to email them to tell them this?

I have to ask as this is my first build.

you have all the drivers in the PCS web, once you log in, you will see the downloads section on the left

+1 you need to explicitly specify the SSD as your 1st hard drive. I had the same suspicion with my build and they had to 'swap' the drives around.

So make sure your SSD is 1st hard drive, if not, message them ASAP

It should be absolutely fine then, I wouldn't worry . Always best to double check, but even if it turns up with OS installed on wrong drive, it's not the end of the world. But we'll cross that bridge if it comes (which I doubt)

I would say - NORMALLY, it is common practice to install the OS on the SSD at PC Specialist, however sometimes when a customer chooses a HDD on Disk 1, and SSDs on Disk 2 or 3, we will proceed to install on the HDD - unless explicitly stated by the customer.
