Win 10 Question

Ive just bought a new PC from pcspecialist which im very happy with but i have a question about win 10. With older version of windows i know you had a serial code for when
you want to reinstall windows. According to them you no longer have one and the license is now burned into the motherboard firmware. Microsoft try to get people to believe that it
is for easy of use for people because they dont have to worry about losing their serial number but we all know its to help cut down on piracy for illegal copies of windows because technically
its a form of DRM. I dont have a problem with that but im just wondering that if your motherboard breaks does that mean there is no way to transfer your paid license over to another motherboard as technically its as good as a new laptop when thats replaced, or is it transferable? Personally i preferred the old way of doing things, cant go wrong with a serial number.

Thanks, i dont have time to give this a go tonight but it looks like there are steps to link the product key to a microsoft account in the link you have provided. I will have a go at this tomorrow when im home
from work and post the out come. Thanks for your help!
