windows 7 welcome screen

i have a problem where windows 7 welcome screen takes forever to load and go to desktop

i have windows 7 and windows xp and i am writing this using windows xp
is there a way to use safe mode or go to the other hard drive using windows xp and modify something so it will go faster ?

How long a time are we talking ? and has it always been as slow ?

Is it under warranty with PCS if so wait for their reply / contact support.

Otherwise have you tried going into safe mode...
have you instaled anything since (check you haven't got multiple conflicting Antivirus programs)
have a look in device manager for any hardware issues. (right click My Computer, Manage, Device Manager)
if all looks ok maybe try rolling back to a restore point. (you'll find that control panel - System)

Edit : ops forgot the important bit it's been a while but i'm sure Safe mode in Win7 is still F8 on boot up.

wait i will go to safe mode msconfig and make the start up to use only the necesary and see what happens
i will probably work with windows xp and then format it
