Worse GPU with better CPU, or better GPU with worse CPU?

Geforce GT 555M with an i7-2760QM (2.40GHz) 6MB

OR

Geforce GTX 560M with an i5-2520M (2.50GHz) 3MB?

Which do you think is better for gaming? The worse graphics card with the better processor, or better graphics card with worse processor?

It entirely depends on the game but in general your probably better off with the second option of the better GPU.

How quickly do laptops go down in price? I'm looking at one valued at £1,010, but how much do you think that'll be in September? Down by £10, down by £100, what sort of area?

560M + 2520M for gaming.

The 2520M is a very capable CPU, and when all current gen components are brought into the equation your GPU will always be your biggest bottleneck.

The 560M and i7-2670QM together are only a little more than the 560M and 2520M. I'm assuming that would be much better?

Indeed the 2670QM is definitely a better overall choice than the 2520M.
