Worth a Motherboard Upgrade?

For the PSU which do you think is the best option?

CORSAIR 850W HXi SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® PLATINUM or CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET?

I'm not sure of the tradeoff between HXi/RMx and Platinum/Gold

The platinum is more efficient that than the Gold but both are top of the range, one is just more top of the range if that makes sense?

Either option will outlive the rest of the components in the build

Yea that makes sense! What's the difference between the HXi and RMx series? Is one newer and better than the other?

I'm not 100% versed in this but I believe the HXi is a slightly smaller build but better components, better efficiency and I believe you can control the level of current going through but I'm not sure how that works

I think that once you get to the RMX it becomes a law of diminishing returns. The higher grade PSUs might be slightly more efficient and slightly better, but the RMX is already a top choice.

It’s pointless doing any kind of benchmarks on cyberpunk, it’s a broken game, it should not have been released even to this date.
The OP specifically mentioned Cyberpunk at ultra, someone else then posted about a 3060ti can get 200+ fps. If Op listens to that and get’s a 60ti, they’re going to be a bit disappointed when they get absolutely nowhere near that.

The 3070 is obviously the better card on all fronts but let's not pretend the divide is a wide gap because it just isn't
I’m not comparing them, i’m telling you my 3070 doesn’t even get close to 200fps in Cyberpunk, especially in ultra - like OP mentioned in the post.

But the difference between a stock 3060ti and 3070 on Warzone @ 1440p is 35fps (pretty wide gap)? However i am not sure of 1080p results.

What i am saying is, if the OP buys a 3060ti, expecting insanely high fps in ultra, they are going to be extremely disappointed.

The problem with this statement:
I’m not comparing them
Is that...
The gap between a 3060ti and an overclocked 3070 is massive. Probably 30+ fps on warzone.
...you just compared them.

Anyway, lads. This thread is getting derailed. If you want to continue the conversation take it elsewhere, please. Because it’s not assisting the OP’s cause now.

Agreed. With a 3090 in the mix - maybe go higher, but RMX is a fantastic psu.

OP you need to add extra fans, the H115i will pull too much air out, for the single front fan to handle alone.

The spec for the CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE says that it includes 2 120mm fans?
Yeah, one front and one rear. You will have 1 front fan and then 3 exhausts and 2 are extremely powerful new ML fans. I’d strongly advise adding 3 LL120’s to the build.

So if I understand correctly, the rear fan and the cooler fans extract hot air out of the case and the one front fan is supposed to intake cold air from the outside?

So I need more intake fans, since there's 3 extraction fans and only one intake fan?

Yes. But the coolers fans are significantly more powerful. You ideally want more exhaust than intake though, than the other way around, as it will keep the gpu cool.

Wouldn't it be better to get two fans then?

That way there would be 3 intake fans and 3 extraction fans, but since 2 are powerful liquid cooler fans, there would still be more extraction than intake?
