Wrong Power Cable Asus Monitor.

Hi folks. An Asus minitor I ordered last week arrived a few days ago. Unfortunately it came with an EU power cable. I informed PcSpecialists. They ssid they would post one out.
I'm wondering if it's ok to use ANY kettle cable. Even ones for kettles.
Would it just be a matter of putting the correct fuse in?
I need to have the monitor up and running. I've already sold my previous one.
