Microsoft recall

I'm tempted to just upgrade to 24H2 now while I'm actively thinking about disabling Recall, instead of waiting for whenever my PC decides to update and I'll have probably forgotten about Recall. Windows Update is telling me there's no active updates at the moment, but I'm aware I can force the update with the installation tool.
Do it...you only live once (unless you subscribe to one of those 'Eastern' religions/philosophies :))

So I'm up and running (well the main part of 24H2 is installed - a few million updates will probably take the evening!) and I don't appear to have Recall. Well not so far...

If my reading of Recall is correct, I think it needs an encrypted boot drive (so BitLocker) enabled for security.

I don't have that, so maybe that's why it's not even listed in my Privacy & Security Settings.

Given the privacy implications of how Recall works, BitLocker being a necessity makes sense. I don't have it either, so Recall not being an option for me either makes sense.

So, Recall is now live and turns out the naysayers warning about a security nightmare may have been right all along

With every new Windows 11 update, I find myself double checking to see if this is the update that installs it across all systems. I'm aware of the SSD-bricking feature of the latest Windows update, so I've not bothered with it yet. I'm Recall-free so far!

I THINK I’m safe for now as I’m now microsoft free, but you never know with their dodgy updates, may well infect Linux and MacOS in a future update!
