Sorry, another question haha.
I went to save the quote and it stated that the PSU selected was way more than the calculated wattage needed. What benefit is there to choosing a 750W PSU when a 550W would be enough?
Oh wow, really!? That's shady!
Honestly Thank you guys for your help. I'm going to go over the build with the person who actually wants the computer and see what they think.
I understand, I wasn't clear from the get-go.
I appreciate the feedback and the suggested specs you've supplied. I do like the look of this second build you've suggested, but would it still work with a 2080 Super instead of a 2070? If not, why? It is important for me to try and understand the...
That's fair enough, I didn't specify the budget etc. I'm actually doing all this on behalf of someone else who is not savvy at all when it comes to custom PCs. He has told me the top of the budget, including a monitor, is around £2000-£2200. Certainly the monitor budget can be increased a bit...
Sorry, when I clicked the link to Scott's build I went to the monitor section and I guess it showed me the first monitor on the list, rather than the one he selected. Anyways, my mistake.
Getting back to the build itself. What was wrong with my build? Scott upgraded almost everything on his...
Okay, so say I want to do 1440p gaming, wouldn't I need a monitor that goes to 1440p resolution? Is a 1920x1080 monitor not too small, or am I not understanding how it works?
Thanks for the reply!
Yeah the build is only for gaming, so streaming functionality not required. I think with the changes you've suggested the cost is too high. The monitor you've selected seems okay but I want to take advantage of the GPU and play at 1440p, possibly 4K.
Thanks for the reply!
The computer will just be for gaming, no streaming or video editing or anything like that.
There's still a little bit of room in terms of budget to go up, but not much. I want to have enough to get a good monitor to go with it.
Hello people!
Is there anything obviously bad about this build?
And does anyone have a suggestion for a monitor to go with? I'd like to be playing games at 1440p and the budget is £200-£350, maybe £400.
Can Nvidia GPUs use Freesync monitors?
Here's the build:

First time posting, just wanted to ask for advice about this spec. I'm very much a newbie when it comes to computer specs and hardware so perhaps someone can help me out.
I am planning on using this laptop mainly to play strategy games like the Total War series, StarCraft 2, Civ etc. I may also...
