No, the graphics unit has its own dedicated video memory (1GB).

This reading is in realtime, as to say you have 4GB of RAM installed and 1.5GB is current being used by the operating system.

If you're getting this reading from the "System Information" tool then there's nothing wrong as far as I know.

Type System Configuration into the start search bar and open the program which appears, then click on the boot tab and click advanced options. From there make sure that the box labelled "Maximum Memory" isn't ticked, if it is untick the box click OK then click Apply.
