A little project for college.

Hey guys - I am starting college in September doing, a 3 day media course.
I have an idea to buy a laptop for the times i am in college but not in lessons.
any suggestions on this matter?? my budget is around ... £1000 but the cheaper the better.
I would love to be able to play cod zombies and other games smoothly and it needs to be as lightweight as possible

What size are you after? The 11.6" Inferno is small and portable or you can go for something like a 15.6" Optimus III with a fair few custom changes as below. You could save £9 and get the glossy screen, but if you plan on using it when you are out and about as you said, you may prefer to keep it.

+1 for vanthus' spec. If you want, you could get the 500GB hybrid drive instead of the 750GB black scorpio. They are the same price but you would sacrifice 250GB of space for speed. Your choice!

1GB of VRam is plenty to run the latest games on a single screen on high resolutions.

Yes, 1gb is absolutely fine, the speed of the card is a lot more important than the amount of vram. Amount of vram tends to be used on some websites to try and make a low end graphics card look better than it is.
