Be careful as to how many internal headers ur chosen mobo has. If it only has one like the asus rampage iii then u can only connect 2 front ports or a 52in1 card reader unless u buy an nzxt iu01 expansion chip.

Hi folks,

I have spent a fair bit of time since Gormans and Sleinous last posts trying to rationalise the Case - Motherboard -Front USB conundrum. I just cannot see how to achieve exactly what I want with the range of selections available on PCS 's website.

I don't mind paying for a high spec machine with good personal service thrown in, but if I can't specify it on the website I guess I can't have it.

So I suppose it's decision time as to whether I compromise on the build, which I don't think I would really be satisfied with, or if I need to look elswhere in an attempt to achieve what I want.

Hmm, feeling a bit dissapointed now. :( Any suggestions??

Cheers,

Bryan

Edit and Note

I have just found this device,

Would this solve my problem of extra front USB ports and is it likely to be reliable ?

My apologies if posting this link breaches Forum Rules or etiquete in any way, but I really want to solve this.

Hi,

This is the device I suggested, its very very easy to install and will ensure that all USB front ports _ an addtional device such as a 52in1 card reader will work. At the same itme.

As for the device you have found, it kind of wood but your front USBs still wouldnt work. That device is basically like a external USB hub, just internally, and none of the extra USBs on the 2nd backplate (onewith 4 usbs) are powered.
