I am absolutely gutted mate I honestly don't know what to do the laptop is just over a year old.
I have no idea where I stand.
I think, given the extraordinary history you've had with it, it's worth putting it to them that you've had x number of new mobo's and GPU's and screens and the issue persists. There's something inherently wrong with that build.

Either a refund or swap it out for another model brand new imho.

Remember you're still within warranty so that stands for a lot.

I'd put it to them and see what they say.

Send an email outlining everything to [email protected], that will get dealt with a lot quicker.

So i have just submitted an official complaint detailing the history of my laptop in as objective a way as i can.
I have also requested either a refund or a new laptop from a different manufacturer and model which is the same value and specification as my current laptop.

Ill post an update if and when i receive a response.

Thank you moosEh i have responded.

Everyone as you will have worked out moosEh has got involved. Preliminary results look positive for a replacement pending inspection of my laptop when it is sent back.

:)

Sounds hopeful! Hope it all gets resolved to your satisfaction (y)

I finally have an update and it is great news.

After moosEh and Andrew from the customer care team got involved PCS have agreed to replace the laptop with a brand new Vyper 17.3.

To put this into context quickly the day this was signed off the Vortex I RMA'd was 378 days old. I am really impressed that PCS did not try to duck this and dealt with it in the way they did from the very first email they sent me they were extremely apologetic and couldnt do enough for me to fix the issue.

The spec for the Vyper I am receiving is as follows:

As the Vyper is much cheaper than the Vortex was when I bought it I took the liberty of upgrading the RAM and adding gold warranty plus 1 year pixel protection to bring it nearer the price (it was still £50 cheaper than the Vortex) PCS were happy for me to do this.

The only downside so far is that I had to lose the G-Sync screen a HDD bay and a finger print scanner but it is what it is, the upside is i automatically get an upgraded I7.

I was told that the laptop would be built and tested whilst my complaint was being processed so that it could be shipped straight away and I dont think this has happend as it doesnt appear to be reflected on the order. However as I am getting a brand new replacement I am not going to kick up a fuss.

I never received confirmation that the wrong screen was fitted or what was causing the graphics fault but at this point It is pretty irelevant.

Thanks everyone for the ongoing support you have given me throughout the ordeal that was teh Vortex. Fingers crossed the Vyper turns out to be the laptop i have wanted for the last year.

It took 2 weeks exactly from my first complaint email to this point which I think is very reasonable.

I've said before that the mark of a good company isn't that they never make mistakes, it's how they deal with them that matters.

This is a great outcome for you and shows how good PCS's after sales service really is. I'm really pleased for you. :)

I'd also say that I think this outcome is in no small part down to the calm and reasonable way in which you've handled more problems that anyone should be asked to put up with.

Thanks Ubuysa. Kicking off wouldn't have helped anything, i just wanted a working laptop. Fingers crossed that's me done with RMA's.

I think PCS have dealt admirably in their customer care, but I also think big kudos to you for the consistent way you've dealt with the issues, level headed, rational, considerate and patient. I'm a big believer in Karma, and I think you thoroughly deserve this.

I'm so pleased!!! (y) 😍 👏👏👏

I couldnt be happier with the outcome.
It has been confirmed that they didnt end up building and testing the laptop as the complaint went through but it is being fast tracked and it went into the build phase this morning so hopefully ill get it by middle of next week.

I cant wait.
