Already ordered this desktop anyone spot any issues?

Just bought this for my lad and wondered if there was anything I’ve done wrong. Did a reasonable amount of research 😜 but looking for advice before it’s built. TIA

It would be useful if you can let us know your budget for the machine and what it'll be being used for - eg if for games, if you know which games that'd help as well.
And whilst it will work, there are probably a number of changes that should be made for example that GPU in that case is going to get very toasty and it may shorten its lifespan, and many think that AMD are better than Intel at least for that generation of CPU's (unless you have a very specific reason for going Intel)

Hi mate, just a couple things that I'm seeing straight off the bat. First of all though when posting your spec the forums read the below and we can help better

Also if you let us know your budget, what monitor you plan to use and what the machine will be used for we can help you get the most for your money

First of all we wouldn't recommend that case generally as it's a very budget case. For a few £ more you can get a solid case that promotes airflow and has decent build quality

The 10700K is now two generations old so you're essentially buying a CPU that's already out of date in a new build, wouldn't recommend this

The 3080 seems like your paying a premium at the cost of everything else in the build. Do you have a 4K 144Hz monitor that can properly utilise the 3080? Also Nvidia recommend a minimum of 850W PSU for the 3080 so you're slightly under in that aspec

That CPU cooler is in no way capable of cooling that CPU mate I'm sorry to say. 120mm Liquid coolers are practically useless at the best of time but the 10700K is a very hot CPU and therefore requires pretty good cooling. I personally wouldn't recommend anything less than the Corsair H100i for that CPU

Sorry this is aint the best news but we can help amend this, you can change a build any time before it goes into build and we can help

Hello, I’ve already bought it 😐 it was £2000. And in complete honesty I should’ve been i7 11700k (3.6)ghz. Is there any way to cool it a little more ?

If it was ordered from the PCS website and hasn't been dispatched yet you can make changes :)
Unless its one of the next-day or Review PC's

so a £2k budget, what monitor is it being used with resolution & refresh rate or make and model?
If it isn't in production there may still be a chance that you can change it to an AMD build

Yeah the 11700K isn't good mate, just look at reviews it's a pretty bad CPU but we can build an excellent AMD system in that budget range. Can you let us know what monitor you'll be using?

We would need to the resolution and refresh rate to pair the GPU

There’s the spec fellas
Right I can’t say what games he plays em all 🤣 but gta, war zone, simulators, far cry god knows, monitor is to come. £2000 was the budget really wanted i7 11700 (3.6)ghz
And he definitely wants that card So I’ve tried my best to build on that within budget. And not been in to pc gaming since I was young so it’s all different

The Graphics card doesn't matter if you don't have a monitor that you can pair with it mate, for a monitor to match the 3080 you're looking at £700+ for a monitor so we would really need to know at least your budget for a monitor so we can recommend something suitable

We can recommend a monitor to use per GPU as well if you need help selecting something, we're happy to do that

Don’t know why I just never used amd ever. Is there that much difference? And monitor can be bought to suit based on what you guy suggest. I’m dying inside now.

ok that helps a bit, so what I can say is that’s a way off at that price. And he wants 4K decent frame rate on most games if possible?

AMD Ryzen CPU's are a much stronger option when compared to the 10th and 11th series Intel CPUs

There's no difference just a different website for chipset drivers which are very rarely updated anyways,

I'll put together a build here now for you

12th Gen will put you out of budget and I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan. They run really really hot and draw a hell of a lot of power for not much of a performance gain. Especially considering AMD are ready to announce their new generation of CPU's which I have no doubt will be much much better

12th Gen right now this very second are the best on the market. It's up to yourself but I'll see what I can do with a 12600K which is a solid choice

I'm not very good at speccing up machines to be honest - I was just helping things move along :)

Steveyg's build(s) will be good and be nicely balanced :)

hahaha you don’t like ssd’s or HDD’s do you 😂 and one more question bud which so you recommend for future proofing (know it’s impossible forever ha) Tbf that 12th gen intel seems like a more future proof design having z690? I’m far from an expert and still further than that.
