Amending finance orders

To try and save sitting on hold for 2 hours and to save the space for someone else in the queue, can anyone who has ordered on buy now pay later (12 months) tell me what happens when you amend your order?

So for example, the original build is £2000 and you swap something out like the cpu to a cheaper option, how is the money paid back?

Do they take it off what you need to pay in 12 months or do they send you the money back to your card straightaway?

I seen someone mention on here that you may get it back as a credit note. I doubt it affects the finance agreement, as that's been made between you and Hitachi rather than with PCS.

Thank you, that would make sense.

I'm thinking of changing the following. Do you think it would be good?

CPU: 5900x to a 5800x
GPU: 3080 to a 6900xt
And maybe the 1TB Samsung 980 M.2 to a PCS 1TB M.2

Unfortunately you will need to speak to either PCS or Hitachi to find out for sure.

For my finance, the agreement was 8 year ago but I received credit notes when amending to a lower amount/value than what was agreed in my finance deal.

If you want feedback on your build please read the below thread, post your full specs including links and give us the uses/budget etc.

Ok thanks I will try calling tomorrow maybe.

By credit note does that mean I can only use the money to buy things from PCS? Like store credit?

I never really needed to find out (I spent my credit upgrading other things)

Initially the credit note would need to be spent with PCS as such, but I’d assume after your build was shipped PCS would sort that out and refund you or something like that.

The 3080 is overkill for 1440p, the 3060Ti would be the normal recommendation, with 3070 for Ultra Wide

The credit note is refunded. I changed my order quite a few times - sometimes more expensive components, sometimes cheaper. I had to pay for the more expensive upgrades there and then, and the final one was when I was given the opportunity for a Christmas delivery if I changed the CPU. I got a £99 refund in my account a few days later.

I'm now in the position where I'm looking to pay off the whole thing before October and I'm tied into the full finance deal. Hope this helps and saves you the phone call.
