Generally a good spec, but un-balanced. You have too much RAM when compared to your CPU and graphics. As you don't play games, consider downgrading your RAM to 4GB. It will save you some un-necessary expenditure! :)

photo editing on photoshop? Consider an Nvidia GPU - they have CUDA cores which make photoshop a breeze, something ATI lacks.

Advice:

Drop to 4gb ram, ample, besides 8gb single modules are releasing soon which should bring price of 2gb and 4gb down.

Next: Change gpu to gts 450.

Good choice of 64mb cached hdd

Thanks for the info.

In the past my 4g RAM has seemed to little to load 12 megapixel photosand edit them in Photoshop Elements so I thought 8gb RAM. Am I wrong?

Is the 450 as good for games such as Rome Total Realism?

Regards

Mike

Yes it is however if the budget can stretch - go for the gtx 460.

another thing to note - this is dual channel 1333mhz RAM, probably way faster than ur old ram? maybe single channrl @ 667mhz?

U can add another 4gb latr on when prices have dropped following the release of 8gb single modules.
