Soon to retire (3 years), :) ,so want to have a PC that will last for a good few years.
to be used for general office stuff, some website work, video editing and, of course, some games - mainly simulation.

Concerns - not sure about video card - NVidia or ATI. Not many PCI slots on motherboard.

Need to purchase now as old PC on last legs - bad timing!

The graphics card is a solid choice for a mid range card, which may be for the best if the plan is to replace it a couple of years down the line.

Spec looks good, although not a fan of TV cards myself, they tend to be incredibly picky about signal.

Great spec, very well balanced and will be a workhorse for several years given the decent CPU and RAM. :)

ye their time comes in q1 2011 when intel gen3 releases. 2gb gtx 460 not really needed unless youre going to output at max res over two mpnitors, or maybe going to SLI 2 GPUs

I have made a few changes. Done away with the SolidState disk & replaced with WD Black 1TB x 2 Mirrored. also added 2 x2GB WD Green - though the 4th drive is not showing. Price has dropped a bit as well.

This is to be mated with 2 x Iiyama Prolite E2407HDS 24 HDMI LCD TFT Monitor.

Any further thoughts.?

This is perfect, because the 2GB GTX 460 will actually come into play with 2 monitors @ max resolution.

You can also then add a second GTX 460 to this rig (2GB version) in SLI for gaming.

Please note that you will NOT have 4G of video RAM then, vRAM doesnt stack, you get the same 2GB which is another reason why the 2GB is a good idea when planning for future SLI

Thanks for the input people - Excuse my ignorance, but why 1333mhz - isn't 1600mz faster? Is it the motherboard that is the problem. Perhaps a different motherboard?

There's no real world benefit of having 16000mhz RAM unless you overclock the processor, just trying to save you from spending money unnecessarily :)
