Is there anything that anyone would upgrade? I'm going to upgrade RAM further to 32gb and potentially the GPU once I get enough money behind me :)

What are you actually using the PC for? :) What do you want the PC to do that it currently does not? Or what do you want it to do better?

Impossible to suggest any upgrades without knowing!

32gb RAM would have 0 benefit for gaming. 0. And for video editing 16gb should be fine, certainly as you get started.

What monitor are you gaming on? What make and model? I assume not the one in your spec.

No, in all seriousness it's worse. I'm using a HDTV via HDMI output. I won't use the other screen because it's too small 😬 it's a Sharp TV but I doubt that makes a difference. What monitor would you suggest I get?

If your TV is 1080p then tbh it's about the same as the monitor.

As for what monitor, what's the budget for upgrades?

I'm going to assume the objective is to have a generally better (higher settings, higher fidelity, smoother) gaming experience.

What to suggest depends on your budget. If you had ~£200 to play with, you could just get a 1080p 144hz monitor, with freesync.

If you had ~£600 or more to play with, you could get a 1440p 144hz montior with adaptive sync and an appropriate GPU upgrade to go with it.

If you had £300, you could buy a 1080p 144hz monitor and treat yourself to a 1 TB SSD as well.

Depends how much money you have, and what you want to achieve exactly by the upgrade. :)

It's probably the £200 range at the minute so I could get 144Hz refresh monitors as mine are currently 60. In time I'll likely get the GPU before the SSD but we'll see which comes first 🤷‍♂️

I'd suggest planning your upgrades more fully / further into the future then.

An RX 580 is a solid pairing for a 1080p 144hz monitor. But if you're already planning to upgrade the GPU, why get a monitor that is a good fit for your current GPU, only to then replace that with a GPU that would be good for e.g. 1440p?

Perhaps it would make more sense to not upgrade anything right now, and save up so you can go 1440p 144hz adaptive sync + a new GPU at the same time. Otherwise you're about to spend £200 on a monitor that will "bottleneck" your forthcoming graphics card upgrade :)

You can get 1440p 144hz freesync monitors from a little over £200, with many in the ~£350 range.

And you can get an RX 5700 for ~£300. So perhaps wait until you have £600 and then upgrade.

I understand the urge to buy something, but here I think you'll get the best bang for your buck through building up a bit more first. :)

That makes sense, I think i'll give other upgrades a miss for the time being, although when I do decide to upgrade the monitors, I'm definitely getting two of the same; having two different monitors stresses me out so much as they're not the same. I do see that BenQ are good monitors as well if they're worth looking at?

There are loads of monitors out there, and I don't know the half of them, the list I produced is just the best I could do :)

Everyone does good monitors, BenQ included. And everyone does the occasional turkey too (BenQ included). So do look at BenQ, but look at everyone else too.

As for 2 of the same, these high end monitors are very expensive and you will only be running the games on 1 of them. You'd be paying a super high premium for 2 of the same, and not getting any of the hardware benefits off the 2nd monitor.

Perhaps best to go for a pair of monitors that look very similar. For instance

Iiyama GB2760QSU-B1
Picture 1

(~£300-£350, 1440p, 144hz)

Picture 1

(~£200, 1440p, 60/75hz)

That's just the first example I came up with, but you can probably find very similar looking monitors where your 2nd monitor doesn't milk you of £200 for no performance benefit :)

Got a while to consider options anyhow
