hi
can i add asecond HDD to a Clevo w550 / UltraNote II without using a caddy. I have taken off the HDD bay cover but there seems to be no room for another drive.
I did ask pcspecialist but they said: You do not require to buy and additional caddy as it already has a second hard drive expansion bay
Yes it is very easy, just slot it in from the bottom of the case, there is a HDD panel you can screw off.'

i sent a picture back of the bay cover off but got no reply.

Has anybody done this?

According to the configurator there is only "1 x 9.5mm, 2.5” S-ATA HDD support",but there is an option for an mSATA SSD Drive,I would double check with PCS though.

hi vanthus, thanks for replying.
i did ask pcspecialst but they said: 'You do not require to buy and additional caddy as it already has a second hard drive expansion bay' but when i asked where it was they did not reply.
so, had a look at what an mSATA SSD was. It seems its locks a bit RAM-like. so i guess there is some slot for it on the board somewhere.
Just downloaded the Manual from Clevo site and all it says is 'mSATA SSD (Solid State Drive) with
SATA (Serial) Interface (Factory Option)'

Does Factory Option means it might be there but might not be? There is no mention of it on the Ultranote II specifications page.
I will ask them again
thanks
