Cannot connect to the internet

Help needed. I have spent a very frustrating day with my son's new pc specialist pc. It took me 2 hours earlier to connect to the internet, it kept saying limited connection and a problem with the wireless adaptor access point. I disabled and enabled the adaptor, reset and restarted the modem and somehow we were connected. Now he's turned it back on after dinner and limited connection again. I can't do this every time he restarts the pc so please help - what is wrong and how do I fix it? Every other device in the house works fine - laptop, iPod, iPad, kindle, my desktop so there is nothing wrong with the router. The router is a sagecom, not sure of the model as there is nothing else written on it. The pc has a Qualcomm Atheros AR9287 wireless card in it. The network troubleshooter is now saying that there is a problem with the wireless adapter or access point, "wi-if" doesn't have a valid ip configuration and A network cable is not properly plugged in! It's supposed to be wireless! Please help if you can as my 12 year old is distraught he can't use his new PC.thank you and happy christmas.

If it's a desktop with a wireless PCI card installed, the antennas should be in your welcome pack, they connect to the wireless card at the back of the computer.
