my question is the monitor is dvi, do i need to purchase the dvi cable for it?
also wanted to know if this is a decent enough spec. didnt really wanna spend as much as this but seems nice for the price.

Hey,

The monitor doesn't come with a DVI cable as standard so you would have to order one. In regards to the spec, could you please let us know what the PC will be used for so we can see if anything could be tweaked?

just for general gaming, and for COD - black ops. mine runs it fine atm. but wouldnt mind it being a little better. not after major good graphical detail. just decent enough gameplay. dno if that helps lol?

The HD5450 really isn't a gaming card at all, if your budget can stretch to it I would highly recommend a HD5770(or at least a HD5670) and a cooler case like the coolermaster elite 310.

i cant tbh. my budget is around 450-500. need a monitor in that as well. not an operating system. i have an nvidia geforce 210 512mb card atm and it runs cod quite nicely as it is. the card i chose, is it better than that card?

Also wanted to know is there much difference when it comes to having a AMD athlon quad core or phenom quad core apart from high ghz in each core? would i get away with just using an athlon?

There is a difference but it would be worth dropping down to an Athlon II x4 630 and upgrading the graphics card to a HD5670, the power supply to a 450w and the case to the coolermaster elite. You'd still be £3.00 under budget and still have a good quad core processor, with these changes you'll get more frames per second while gaming and have a cooler case.

ALSO was wondering through forums and noticed that some people were having problems with DHL? because i live in student accomodation i have no way of knowing when they will turn up. when i order the desktop from u, do u pass on details for your customers etc? if so would it be possible to add my number on the delivery form for them to contact me?

I don't work for PCSpecialist but I'm pretty sure that you can request the delivery person to call you if there's no response at the door. Alternatively, you could try and have the PC delivered to the main administration office if you're living in halls of residence (like me ^_^).

yeah but they are REALLY funny about accepting packages and stuff so need someone to comment on it asap as i got my money through early so want to order asap :p

we can indeed send special instructions to the courier, although i have to stress that it is down to the individual delivery driver to bother reading it and actually doing it.
