complimentary 4GB USB pen drive

Recently got an email asking if i'd post a review on trustpilot.com after purchasing a laptop from PcSpecialist and if I did so would receive a complimentary 4GB USB pen drive, I did so and posted a good review as i'm very happy with my laptop and received the pen drive today. I must say though that the pen drive is quite useless it doesn't seem to work, if I just unplug the drive and plug it back in windows asks to format it every time and if I try using the eject windows says it's in use, so if I choose to eject it it as to be formatted again. Therefore I can't trust it to save any files on. :stuart:

Just to add though this doesn't reflect on my laptop which is amazing and i'm an extremely happy customer. (glad I didn't buy the pen drive though lol)

I had a problem as well although i havent got a replacement yet, after a while of transferring files etc it all disappears and some random folders and files appear and im not sure what is going on so i have to reformat every time, could do with a new memory stick as well :(

Is it only laptops they ask review for with free peg??

Just out of curiosity, when did you receive your laptop? and when did you get the email regarding the review?

Got my laptop 15 days ago and the email 10 days afterwards, pen drive arrived today.

I got mine yesterday too, not tried it yet but I did like the twee little case it was in!

Only problem is since it was the laptop for the other half, its her thumb drive too, I had hoped id get the same offer on my laptop!

Tried it again a lot since first posting and it needs formatting every time I plug it in. Will PCS replace it ?

okay looks like mine is fubar'ed too

various behaviour of disconnecting as soon as you try and copy a file to it, or copying the files but they turn out corrupt and when you delete not all the space shows back up until your format

will ask about it when I RMA the laptop tomorrow and probably just stick it on the box so it can go back with the laptop.

done my review on site got the email confirmation to confirm but when you to the page it doesn't work it show tiny box which appeared you re sized it but doesn't let you... anyone had this problem?

Well they sent the broken one back with the replaced laptop for some reason , but a new one arrived a day or 2 later (different design) and according to the mrs that one seems to be working fine!

Yep, mine's just stopped working too. Isn't recognised by any of my machines - worked perfectly this morning!

Ah well.

I got one after posting a review of PCS and I think it was the cheapest piece of computer crap I have ever seen so I just threw mine in the bin because I didn't want it to do any damage to my pc.
I would have expected better quality from a computer retailer and for me it was the quality of Poundland lol

I've got two of them and have had no problems at all.
