My PCSpecialist computer build arrived recently and the CPU cooler fan on the AMD Ryzen 3500x heat sink is half hanging of at the top, is this normal??

It has worsened it the last few minutes and is now hanging at a much worse angle, can't see anything to connect it at the top

The fans are usually held on by small metal or plastic clips. It looks like yours may have come off in transit. It must be in the case somewhere so have a good look around.

Temporarily hold the fan in place with a bit of string or similar.

Can’t find the metal clip in the case anywhere, there is a metal clip on the bottom side of the fan but the one on the top is no where to be found

Lash it up with string or a cable tie then and contact PCS when they open. They'll probably send a replacement.

Thank you so much for your help so far, found the metal clip tangled in cabling but am really struggling to fit it back onto to the CPU as I'm not 100% sure what I am doing and it's very close to the top of the case so there is little room to manoeuver

There should be one at the bottom, copy the way that's fitted.

I've tried for near an hour and genuinely cannot get it in with wires in the way and the tiny amount of space available, it's just too fiddly. I'm assuming that the fan is connected before it's put down onto the CPU but I am not confident enough to remove the fan and would risk damaging something. What options do I have?

Well you don't want to be RMAing it for a cooler clip! Support the fan in some way for now (string, cable tie) and call PCS for advice when they open. They may be able to talk you through it.

Thank you so much for your help all I really appreciate it, going to take it down to my local computer shop soon that I use often. Really appreciate though thank you so much :)

You could invalidate your warranty by doing that, @ubuysa is the one who knows which clause in the terms and conditions covers that

I purchased my PC without a GPU as I already have an RX 580 so would installing that also invalidate my warranty? If so I don't really have much choice as I need a GPU
