Edit:Scrap the comments I made about the motherboard, Im not sure at the moment, I will do bit mroe reading on it and let you know.

Anyway the only other thing id suggest is possibly replacing the first Cavier Black with an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (120GB), this will significantly decrease load times. You can always buy another cavier black at a later date.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: I just realised I didn't really answer your question lol, Looks liek a good build apart form the couple of changes id make (although I think they are more personal preference tbh), Id say the system should keep you happy for quite a while :)

thanks for the advice. the price is going up but I'm sure a may be able to swing it with the other half. Q only having 120GB means u would use the first hard drive for start up programmes and put music and the like on the 2nd so as not to fill the first with not so important stuff as my laptop has 2 x 160Gb and the first hard drive filled up quite quickly

Yeah thts right, your OS and common programs would go on the SSD, then you put your music etc on other harddrives, this makes load times a lot quicker but means that data which doesnt necesserily need to be accessed super quick can stay on the slower but larger drive. You can tell iTunes , WMP, or whichever media player you use to use a different folder as the default music folder.

What are you going to be usign the PC to do mainly? Just the "power hungry" games?

it would be used by the wife hence the speed and quietness but i like to play games and i have a 14 yr old son who wants to use it for games aswell so i want a really good graphics card in there so if i get a game i will not be worried about being able to play it. shooter games for the lad but i like lara croft and driver games or possibly on-line games aswell.

Ok, that graphics card should do the trick but bear in mind you wont be able to play max settings on every game you purchase, you will get decent graphics performance though. From what I know of the 560 anyway

Thanks again for the advice i do appreciate it. as my user name suggests i don't really know how it all fits together but my usual thing is if its more expensive it has to be better, which isn't always the case. i do know the graphics cards are always changing but what card would you recommend, i may compromise by ditching the ssd and sticking with the cavier black to keep the cost down.

Im not sure if others would agree with me, hopefully someone will come along with a different suggestion, but Id suggest a 570 rather than a 560.

First question that comes to my mind is, do you need to Overclock the CPU? If not, then drop down to the 2600. Coupled with this, you can drop down to an Air Cooler (from Liquid), and to 1333 RAM.

If you do want to OC it, we'll think again!

As it is for gaming, I would suggest not OCing, and spend the extra cash on the 570 GPU, and possibly (but not essential) the next PSU up.

In terms of HDDs, if you dont want to fork out for a SSD, you could keep the 1TB Caviar Black as your Primary, and then have a Caviar Green as your secondary, I assume for extra storage?

Hope that gives you some ideas :)

how does this look its probably on the money without having to smooth talk the wife too much. i don't want to overclock and yes the 2nd hard drive would be for storage and back-up maybe. PC specialists say i don't need the 750 PSU just the 600?

Looks much better :)

Also if PCSpecialist suggest the 600, if your not planning on overclocking or getting another graphics card etc then id suggest go with what they say. You can always leave the 750 in for extra breathing space but I believe PCS use a 20% tolerance so you should have some to spare anyway :).

That updated spec looks awesome luddite! You'll have to change your name once you receive your PCS PC though, as you will no longer be a one...!

You haven't posted which warranty you're going for, if you've just picked the standard, up it to the silver for a fiver, its well worth it.
If you've already picked silver or above just ignore me :)

on your last spec i would just drop the 750W corsair the the 650W corsair this will be plenty for you apart from that nice spec.
