Drivers!

Hey,

I've just reinstalled my Windows and I need to get the internet working, but I can't find Ethernet/Internet/WiFi or whatever drivers I need, I'm not even sure.

This laptop from PC Specialist didn't come with drivers CD (smth that I'm furious about right now), so I don't know what to do... I've tried many MANY driver detection software, and the best they could tell me is that I need REALTEK drivers, lol. Not much help!

Any ideas guys? Really desperate here... Spent 5 hours already.

It's Optimus IV laptop by the way.

You should be able to check the wireless card you have if you log into "customer login" on the main page http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ then select "view and track orders",then select "show",this should show the spec you ordered.
I think your card will be the INTEL® N135 802.11N,but check any way,if so download driver from here. http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx?lang=eng.
You can also download the other drivers needed from the clevo website,
http://clevo.com/en/e-services/download.asp
I think this will be "W35xET/W37xET series", but check model number on your laptop.

Mine is Intel N130, but neither of those websites have drivers for this if I search for N130...

Did the centrino driver work for you or the proset software, and did you download other drivers from clevo link I gave you?

No, I only downloaded ProSet s64.exe file, and it worked perfectly. Didn't download anything else.

If you reinstalled windows I would have thought you would need drivers for your chipset, sound, etc,is everything showing ok in device manager.

I'm guessing those are not going to be a problem. It's just the internet that was tricky. For video I will download nVidia, for audio also have another one.

Also, if you go into the "my Account" page then click on "Download" (which is near the bottom left of the page under Tech Support), then click on your order number, you should be able to download the drivers for all your components, I think.

I'm not sure if this is sorted now, but for future reference all laptop drivers are normally located on one drivers disk in the welcome pack, as opposed to desktops having numerous driver disks.
