Hi

I've got a Seagate goflex drive which can be used with an esata adapter but it requires power from the esata port. Is this something my pc will have?

Thanks

Been thinking about this some more. Because the on board esata port is powered does it automatically follow that both the esata ports I have (one on the back and one on the top of the case) will be powered. (Sorry if I'm being a bit thick I just want to get this right before I shell out money for an esata adapter for my drive).

Thanks

I can say with confidence that although some mainboard esata ports (the ones at the back) may be powered the front panel ones are definitely not, they just plug straight into the mobo's sata connectors.
