Firewire on windows 10

So just to be complete should I now purchase a different card and if so are there any recommended sources?

That is what I was suspecting but when you say that no driver is required does that mean that it uses the one from Windows, or should it work without a driver. My card is currently using a driver called legacy .

1394 Firewire Controllers

Support for VIA 1394 Firewire controllers is included in Windows 10. It is not necessary to download extra drivers.
