Gaming monitors with no DVI port.

I'm new to monitors as I've never upgraded my old Samsung 226bw, but with purchasing a computer from PCSpecialist with a GTX670 I really need a new one.

After hours of searching I've come to the Samsung S23B550VS, but the Samsung monitors that I like seem to have no DVI port.

Is the lack of DVI port going to be a problem? Or am I looking at the wrong type of monitors for gaming?

Note: Sorry if this is in the wrong section, not sure what this comes under.

What is your budget for the monitor? You can connect to the GTX 670 using a dvi or HDMI cable.

Between £130 - £200. Any recommendations are appreciated greatly.

I could go up to £300 for a monitor, but I was planning on going SLI soon so saving up for another GTX670 was the plan.

An HDMI connection is just as good, but you could consider an iiyama monitor from PCS,they are excellent according to reports.

I did look at the 2 monitors, both seem to have (apparent) problems with ghosting. Of course I'm no expert on how these monitors work, I just look for 2ms and read reviews, that's about it. Is the Samsung not as good? Now I know it having only no DVI port isn't a problem I really like it.

(I'll admit I'm way to interested in how the monitor looks, the Samsung is exactly what I'm looking for)

You can still connect with an HDMI cable and the image quality should be similar, I'd prefer to have the option of DVI/HDMI with a monitor.

Im gona hijack this thread :p

I'm going to have to get a monitor eventually and was after some advice.

I've ordered a PC from PCS and the GPU is the GTX670. Now from what i can see it has both DVI and HDMI ports so as long as i get a monitor which has the same ports im good to go.

However, whats this Dual link DVI? I've read up that you need it for 3D gaming as well as gaming on multiple monitors. Does anyone know if the GTX 670 has this dual link DVI? I dont even know what it is, is it a DVI cable that splits into 2? or something entirely different?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could explain to me the differences ect?

(P.S i would like to be gaming on a 120Hz monitor, dont know if i need Dual link DVI for that as well.)

Thanks
