Evening all, i asked for your advice a couple of months ago, on having a Gaming Pc build for Christmas, and some of you kind folk said come back closer to the time, as prices might have dropped a bit, so as the festive season approaches, i thought i better start asking now, I don't want to leave it too late.

Right it is for my nephew, so here we go.

Budget is £800 Operating system he would like would be Windows 7, no peripherals needed as he already has those.

Games he will be playing will be The Crew, Battlefield Games, Call of Duty, Warcraft etc etc, all the latest games to be honest.

One final thing he would like a Dual Monitor set up ?

Thanks very much for your time.

If you still planning to buy for Christmas I think it is still quite early. I reckon prices may decrease even further. For £800 you shouldn't have a problem getting a gpu that supports 2 monitors

Thanks all, and your advice is very much appreciated yet again, maybe it is still a little early, maybe i should wait a little bit, but i just want to make sure i am on the right path, and i know with the configurations you have given me i know it will be a very good computer.

Ah i see the build time is 8-10 day's i really thought it was longer than that.

I will probably pop back in a couple of weeks and use the above configuration.

Thanks Keynes, Zwinkle and vanthus, agian it is much appreciated.

I would look at around 3 weeks delivery time since the 8-10 working days are only estimates.

I can't see being any more price drops in the next few weeks, they might even go up,or as I said something being discontinued, strike while the iron is hot :)

I understood it is for Christmas so ordering late November? Early December? PCS announced a 50% price drop in the titan z on facebook so it might be the case that AMD may follow or with more variants of the gtx 980/970 the 700 series may decrease in price. However if you are ordering soon go ahead with Vanthus spec. That's just me speculating

Hmm decisions decisions , you both have valued points , in either waiting or striking while the iron is hot, especially now, where the build time / delivery time could be 3 weeks. I just dont really want to leave it too late. Will make my mind up very soon. Again thanks both for your help.

Tbh I wouldn't pair a 6350 with a 780 myself, I'd go i5 + 280x...

To be really honest, that to me is a foreign language, i really dont know what you are on about sorry, my computer knowledge is very basic.

He's saying in his opinion, he'd rather go with mine than the other - however I disagree for gaming purposes :)

Don't see why not,I don't think the FX-6350 would cause any bottleneck, and very few games are CPU intensive.
I have an AMD processor myself not as good as the FX-6350 and have no problems running games or anything else.

If your budget was a little flexible then you could go with my build but replace the gpu with the 4gb gtx 970 if that is something you would want to do :)

Thanks again, for all your suggestions, i know this might be the wrong place to ask, but how does a dual screen monitor work ? I don't know if it is possible, but he wants to do something on one screen like watching youtube, then another thing on another screen, like playing a game, is that even possible.

Thanks
