So I have the corsair rm1000x and after an RMA they had replaced the power supply with a brand new one.

However I noticed the design of this power supply has the same label stating its a corsair rm1000x but I cant seem to find the design that I have on the internet at all..

Is this normal at all?

I have attached an image to the replacement power supply that I now have.

It's just a refresh of their PSU lines to go along with their new design direction. You'll notice it looks very similar to the new 4/5/7000 seires cases. Tbh I think it's awesome to see PCS updating to these new units

It is on the website, just may have taken a bit more searching

Hey all,

For one who would like to have his cable management on display and rather hidden by a cover that comes available with their case. Can the heat generated by the cables, CPU liquid coolers pose a risk to the glass side panel that is covering the side of the cables?

My case is the Coolermaster H500M as seen in the attachment below. What end result I am trying to convey would be something similar to the photo below, but with the addition of the CPU liquid cooler cable being there too.

Is this a danger at all?

Cables generally don't output much heat, mine have never been hot to the touch. An AIO wouldn't be on that side of that case so wouldn't be something to worry about. Lots of cases have glass on the cable hiding side and it'll be perfectly fine to have a piece of glass to have your cables on display!

The way PC Specialist did it was from the back; a part of the AIO cable is there. Also on the front, the the pump cable is also leaning on the GPU cables. Is this ok in the GPU regards too?

Yup, I've seen builds with them tied together before

Yup, that's fine as long as you're not pinching wires. They're generally designed to be routed around a case anyway

By pinchinh do you mean literally pinching the wires? Sorry im all new to this side of pcs lol.

So I can put on the glass panel over the cables without the concern that the cables heat can cause the glass to break? This is because I want the cable cover to be taken off. As shown in the photos.

The windows in your house will get 10 times hotter in summer than the side panel of a PC ever will and they are not tempered, the front panels on ovens are tempered glass, I think you will be safe given that a cable will be a few degrees over ambient.

I called PC Specialist and asked them as to why the cable management was the way it was because I am myself completely unable to screw back on the cable cover so now I cant even put on the glass side panel! They simply said its because this case is a difficult one for cable management regarding my build..

Guys what are my options now? The cover is hanging out a little bit as you can see here so I cannot physically press the glass side panel to push it in. Even if I take the cover off, the glass panel has a little bit of pressure from being pressed on by the cables.

My main question here is can I leave the PC without a glass panel on the side of the cables? Will this affect the temperature in the PC on the other side? And what would be the best option to cover it for dust protection?

Hey guys,

My PSU; Corsair RM1000x as well as my PC are pretty much new and just recently I noticed that the psu has this buzzing sound going on which remains constant. Me being me, being a paranoid soul, I only discovered this by putting my ear next to the PSU. It is only noticable when putting my ear next to the PSU.

I notice this very low buzzing noise is costant when the PC is shutdown but when the PSU is switched on.

Is this normal?

It's absolutely normal, it's an electrical component, so there will be buzzing at very low volumes as the air escapes capacitors when it's cooling / heating up.

You are doing yourself no favours, you're looking for problems and causing some as a result. Just sit back and enjoy your computer.
