Pretty simple thread, looking for recommendations for a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor as my PCSpecialist rig is coming in tomorrow according to DPD.

Also I forgot to add, I don’t really want any curved monitors, prefer the standard flat screen, thanks.

You can get loads of great stuff under that price.

For 1440p itself, it's hard to overlook the MSI MAG274QRF-QD:

You can get it for £399:

The other option would be something ultrawide, like the Gigabyte M34WQ:

You can get that for £479:

There's a thread about it from forum regular @Martinr36:

My personal preference would be for the MSI monitor: its performance really is outstanding, but there's a definite argument for ultrawide. What graphics card are you getting? I think it was the 3070 Ti? It'll be amazing for either of those.

Yeah it’s the 3070ti with i7 12700k, I have an 1080p benq modus monitor however with that graphics card I really want a good 1440p monitor as it can easily run that. Thanks for the suggestions.

Would it be a good idea to use the benq as a second monitor, for spotify / twifch chat etc?

The M34WQ would go nicely with a 3070Ti

Oh yeah, you can certainly use the 1080p monitor for that. It's an ideal setup. Depending on the monitor, you may even be able to get it vertical: many people prefer that for a second display for those purposes.

Brilliant thanks for that.

I feel like like for the games I play it’s too wide? Maybe I’m wrong I play a lot of fast action fps games (Apex legends, Call of duty etc.) not sure if that’ll be too much too look at with that monitor?

Like I said I might be completely wrong, I think I’ll go with the MSI.
