Gpu compatibility

Need help with specs. I got a desktop with an asus prime b550-plus motherboard and was told it has a pcie 3.0 but I bought a gpu maxsun GeForce RTX 3070 with a pcie 4.0 im not sure if it’s compatible. I was told it’s no issue and will only max out with 3.0 graphics also saying that there’s no huge benefit to upgrading to a 4.0 motherboard because the 4.0 and 3.0 I pretty close when it comes to max performance. Need some clarification on this.

Is this a pcspecialist computer? Did you buy it from PCS?

These forums are for support on PCSpecialist systems only I'm afraid, you'd need an open forum like Toms Hardware or the manufacturers site.

If it is a PCS system, then you'd need to register it with PCS which will give you access to an online account with all your specifications and drivers and also activate your support.
